Donations Needed for Cat Emergency Vet Care
We at FOHA are always committed to giving the cats and dogs in our care every chance for a healthy life. This often includes emergency care for injured animals that come to FOHA. Sometimes an animal in our care suffers a health setback and emergency surgery is required.
In early December, FOHA took in Jinx, a sweet little feline who had been hit by a car. Although she had been treated by a vet for her injuries before coming to FOHA, that vet failed to recognize some additional injuries. Jinx was recuperating in our isolation room upon her arrival at FOHA. But one morning, staff noticed that she seemed to have trouble breathing and seemed to be in significant pain. She was rushed to TLC in Leesburg, where the source of her pain ¨C multiple fractures in her one leg ¨C was identified. She is now in foster care with one of our wonderful staff members, and we¡¯re hoping her leg will heal on its own. If the multiple fractures do not heal, she will likely need to have the leg amputated. Donations are needed to defray the cost of her emergency care.
Sometimes even all the best care and all our love cannot help every animal. Poor Tux is one of those sweet furry souls that medicine just could not help. Bloodwork showed hepatitis, and we scheduled Tux for exploratory surgery at a specialist to try to determine the cause. Unfortunately, Tux¡¯s body was so weak, he was unable to recover from the anesthesia. Cancer had spread through his little body. We had to say our good-byes to Tux far too soon, but we know we¡¯ll see him again at the Rainbow Bridge. Donations are needed to pay his specialist bill.
Please consider making a donation to FOHA so that we can continue to provide cats and dogs like Jinx and Tux a second chance. You can donate online or send your checks made payable to:
